Serveis Clínics, as a CatSalut provider centre, offers comprehensive care to people with tuberculosis both in admission and in the community. On the one hand, it has an internment resource where care is offered 24 hours a day. On the other hand, through the ETODA, the care team travels daily to where the person is to ensure that the treatment is monitored until it is cured.

Admission to the centre offers a safe and specialised environment for people with tuberculosis who, for clinical, social or vulnerable reasons, need support and follow-up during treatment. Health care also focuses on aspects of prevention and health promotion where health education and the promotion of healthy habits also become a priority for the person to leave with better habits and knowledge in health. This translates into training sessions on tuberculosis and other coexisting health problems, adherence to treatment, general healthy habits, coexistence and emotional health, among others.

Community care (ETODA)
The ETODA of Serveis Clínics is a specialized community support service for the follow-up of people with tuberculosis, including cases with drug resistance or at risk of difficulties in adherence to treatment.
The ETODA team supports people wherever they are, whether at home or in any place agreed with the person, establishing a therapeutic and trust relationship and a constant communication with hospitals, social services and public health professionals.
Through Directly Observed Treatment (DOT), a strategy recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), care is provided that addresses both clinical and social aspects, with the aim of promoting adherence to treatment, safety and continuity of care.

How long does follow-up or admission take?
The duration of the follow-up or stay is adapted to the needs of each person, type and extent of their tuberculosis and to the evolution of the treatment, always in coordination with the reference healthcare team.
Can I receive social support during treatment?
Yes. The team offers guidance and support in accessing social resources, processing aid and documentation, as well as coordination with the services and resources of the territory.
Can support people participate in the care process?
Yes. Whenever the person being cared for authorises it, information, guidance and support is provided to families, trusted people and other support networks that can contribute to their well-being and recovery process.
Can I access the service if I don't have a health card?
Anyone diagnosed with tuberculosis in Catalonia is given a health card if they do not have one. Based on the health and social diagnosis, the team assesseseach situation individually and offers guidance and support to facilitate access to other health and social resources. , as well as the processing of the health card and other necessary procedures.
